My weekends have recently been filled with fuelling revising teenagers with cups of tea and their favourite meals – so I was thrilled to escape to Italy (albeit for a couple of hours via the Curzon cinema on Fulham Road) to see Jane Fonda and Diane Keaton in their rosé-fuelled slice of Dolce Vita when they visit Italy in their latest film Book Club: The Next Chapter.

Jane Fonda chats with Laura Craik in an equally uplifting interview revealing why at 85 she looks and feels so fabulous. She discusses how she’s finally embraced going grey (she loves not having the expensive and time-consuming hair salon visits), how wearing a chic ballet flat with cigarette pants and a sequin cardigan on the Cannes red carpet was much more relaxing than being trussed up in Spanx and heels, and how working out is still key for her (important for lifting your legs above your head when having sex apparently).

Talking of legs, Jan Masters keeps things a bit more on terra firma with her Easy Steps to Summer Legs this week. She has, as usual, a great bargain moisturiser from Sainsbury’s and my all-time favourite toning leg cream from specialist brand Legology which has some serious know-how for tackling cellulite and puffy ankles. Two issues I’m imagining that Jane Fonda isn’t too worried about herself!

Enjoy!

On Lucia’s recommendation

If a bath is your thing (and it is definitely mine) then I can honestly say a soak in a bath laced with Olverum is possibly the next best thing to a mini break.

Admittedly, not cheap (I have to hide it from my kids who have been known to slosh it in with abandon) but there’s something so soothing and deeply relaxing about this aromatic green pine and spicy scent that takes me straight off to an Alpine mountain retreat or beautiful forest walk.

When it’s all a bit much, a bath with this always hits the spot. And I loved discovering this week that it’s delivered to the King as his de-stressing bath oil of choice too.
