A Recap: Popsugar's Aughts Effect Party

ICYMI: Popsugar rang in its 20th birthday with the launch of The Aughts Effect package and an accompanying party at The Standard East Village where photographer Marissa Alper was there to capture all the magic. Not only did the majority of our editors congregate to celebrate this very special moment, cover star Monique Coleman was in attendance, playing a round of Secret Teller and taking photos with editor-in-chief Kelsey Castañon. Of course we all dressed up for the occasion, rocking 2000s-inspired going-out 'fits with platform shoes, True Religion tees, butterfly clips, and Louis Vuitton x Murakami bags, all of which were It-girl staples in the aughts. As soon as I slipped into the Old Navy Low-Rise Baggy Wide-Leg Jeans ($38, originally $55) to interview fall campaign star Haley Baylee, I was in love. They're soft yet flattering with a cool-girl element at the bottom hem: a thick, distressed cuff that makes them a bestseller. As it turns out, Haley's a fan of this pair, too — we showed up twinning to play a few rounds of Secret Teller. She also capped off her look with the Old Navy Classic Faux-Suede Jacket ($70), bringing me instant outerwear envy and a newfound wish-list item for September. Later in the week, Cardi B hit up The Ripple Room to celebrate the Old Navy campaign launch rocking her signature "Cardi's Cardi" 'fit, with the Old Navy SoSoft Cropped Crew-Neck Cardigan ($40) in Golden Glow and Blue Moon shades. Needless to say, Old Navy is having a moment, and I feel influenced.
