I Tried on Some of Beyoncé's Most Iconic Looks
|
In the latest episode of The Fitting Room with PatBO, I visited Patricia Bonaldi at her NYC showroom to chat about what makes her label so unique. Worn by Beyoncé, Tate McRae, Chlöe, J Lo, Anya Taylor-Joy, and countless others, the brand is handcrafted in Brazil and known for its signature beading and fringe (seriously, Bonaldi was doing the sleekest tiers of fringe before everyone else was).
I had the chance to try on the PatBO dress that inspired Beyoncé's bodysuit on the Renaissance Tour. One thing Bonaldi remembers fondly about working with the superstar's team? "The respect that they have for the designer." Bonaldi told me Beyoncé's team gave her 45 days to construct three looks inspired by a single mood board and vibe. They wanted her to do it in seven, but she asked for more to preserve her craft, and they said yes. "I didn't know what she would choose," Bonaldi tells me. "You never know until the last minute."

Hold Up: I'm Obsessed With Old Navy Sport

ICYMI: Old Navy launched a sub-brand called ON Sport that's designed for inside and outside of the gym. I've been getting compliments on the Oversized Half-Zip Performance Fleece Pullover ($22, originally $37) everywhere I go, but when my fiancé saw me pull out the matching Medium Support PowerSoft Sports Bra ($18, originally $30) and Extra-High Waisted PowerSoft Boundless Pocket Biker Shorts ($16, originally $27), he was blown away: "That print is so cool!" It certainly does feel transitional-season appropriate to me and even motivates me to work out, like only good athletic-wear has the power to do. Plus, after my one-hour strength-training session, I can confidently tell you the pieces hold up. The shorts didn't ride up whatsoever and the sports bra felt supportive and stayed put.
