And yes, it's HSA/FSA eligible. I never thought I'd be the person casually owning workout equipment, mostly because my apartment is tiny and most fitness gear is aggressively ugly (walking pads and Peloton bikes, I'm looking at you). But a weighted vest? That I could get behind. Unlike most workout gear, it doesn't double as an eyesore, and it's easy to stash away. When I found one from Aion that looks more like a real vest than a futuristic jet pack, I figured, why not? What I didn't expect were the results. It's noticeably improved my posture, boosted my heart rate, and increased my calorie burn, all confirmed by my Oura Ring. And because it actually looks like clothing, you can wear it anywhere. I even wore it out to grab a sandwich, and no one noticed it was weighted (yes, the irony is not lost on me). If you're looking for an easy, low-effort way to level up your day-to-day movement, this is it. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Also yes. Happy New Year, future fitness gurus. |

| Debate: Are Kindles Worth It? |
Before you spend the money — take it from us. Sarah Wasilak, shopping director: "While there's plenty of technology I can get on board with, I can confidently say a Kindle will never make the cut for me. I'm old school in that I like to smell the pages of a book, bend its spine, and familiarize myself with the texture of its typeface. It sounds weirdly intimate, I know, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I just don't love tablets. Right now, I'm reading "The Look" by Michelle Obama ($33, originally $50), which will have a special place on my coffee table when I'm finished with it. Next on my list for 2026? "Simply More" by Cynthia Erivo ($20, originally $29)." Haley Lyndes, shopping staff writer: "I hate to say it, because I'm all about the 'year of analog living' (aka actually experiencing life instead of scrolling through it), but my Kindle is one of my most prized possessions. It's like choosing a reusable water bottle over a plastic one; I just consume more. Suddenly, reading a book is doable with one hand in a dark room, and I get the tiny thrill of watching my progress percentage tick up. Don't know a word? Tap it for a definition. Finish a book? Start the next one instantly. For me, it's helped me actually read more, which might be more important than the romanticized experience of going to a bookstore or stacking physical books on a shelf." In conclusion: At the end of the day, it's all about what works for you. But if you're curious about trying a Kindle, it's a solid device with instant access to a library of titles you'll rarely find out of stock. |
