The Princess of Wales’s choice of dress today will be remembered as one of the most important of her life. Perhaps it comes as no surprise that she arrived at the Abbey today in a spectacular Alexander McQueen gown by Sarah Burton, a designer with whom she has enjoyed a close collaborative relationship since Burton designed her wedding dress in 2011.

After extensive speculation about what a key player at a British coronation in the 21st century might wear, the Princess of Wales has blended the long-held tradition of women donning ivory with a distinctly modern feel thanks to the design’s contemporary silhouette.

Plus, our fashion team has the scoop on all of the best-dressed Coronation guests, and if you’re raising a toast to the King, why not check out our list of the 30 best British drinks?

Enjoy!
