Plus: How seaweed became the hottest thing in skincare and what it's really like to use the 'miracle' weight-loss jab
| | | By Lucia Ferrari COMMISSIONING BEAUTY EDITOR | | This week I joined the throngs (and I mean throngs!) of Gen Z-ers and make-up addicts who queued to be the first through the door of the beauty superstore Sephora, which opened its doors in London’s Westfield White City this week. There was Moët et Chandon, cappuccinos, and a live performance from girl band Sugababes to entice us to go wild in the aisles of the UK’s biggest beauty store, which is home to every lipstick shade under the sun. All the classic beauty brands like Clarins and Chanel were there, along with some wonderful new niche brands I was looking forward to trying. Check out my must-haves here.
Jan Masters meanwhile was finding solace from the snowy temperatures trying out seaweed baths. A long time favourite beauty ingredient, seaweed can boost hydration levels and apparently improve collagen production. As Jan warns though, the fragrance of seaweed bathing in your own bathroom can be a tad “eau de rockpool” and can be a bit slippy – so isn’t for everyone. She also recommends some bargain seaweed face toning products for under £10 that are worth investigating.
I’m off to sort through my Sephora haul.
