HEAD OF FASHION

A month of shows is finally over and although these were winter collections and won’t be available until around August, there are style pointers that could refresh our wardrobes right now. Trouser suits have sharpened up further with the addition of a waistcoat. Three pieces, lots more options. Then there is the question of proportions. Oversized is still a feature in Paris, but it doesn’t work for everyone – at Chanel, for instance, jackets were slim and torso-hugging and included cropped versions. Something to bear in mind if you’re considering an addition to your collection.

Jeans were in many collections, wide and worn with a belt. High-waist pencil skirts are back too. Not very practical for day time, but lovely for evenings with a pair of heels and the appropriate length jumper (cropped). If you’re lucky, you might snap up a discounted designer one from the last time they were in fashion.

Enjoy!
