Hair thinning and hair loss among women is on the rise. Apparently one in four of us will experience some form of hair thinning or hair loss at some point in our life – usually stress or hormone-related. It may be your ponytail doesn’t feel as thick as it once did, or you begin noticing more hair on your hairbrush after brushing.

Help is at hand with Annabel Jones’s article, which talks about the brilliance of the latest hair extensions. Not the sort you’d associate with Love Island celebrities (going from short to long hair), but more subtle, secret hair extensions (think of them as ‘filler’ for the hair), which can add instant volume around the crown or even thicken a thinning hairline.

Meanwhile, writer Ben Rowell dips a freshly-pedicured toe into the world of male grooming to find out if male beauty treatments (also on the rise) really do work and to see if his makeover (from Botox to brow threading) made a difference. Check out the wonderful results which his wife said ‘took a solid seven years off’ and stopped him looking tired all of the time. Now that’s something we could all do with at this time of year!

Enjoy,
Lucia
