And Pantone's Color of the Year Is . . . "Cloud Dancer"? |
If you're sitting there thinking, "WTF is Cloud Dancer?," then you're not alone. That was basically everyone's reaction here at Popsugar. First, because "Cloud Dancer" is . . . a strange name for a color. And second, well, it's kind of boring. Nevertheless, it's meant to represent a "calming influence" in the midst of a tech-saturated world where many of us are reflecting and redefining what we value. And honestly, I do agree with the sentiment (hello, where does the written article stand these days?). I just think a slightly more exciting color wouldn't hurt. Maybe a warm neutral? Truly anything but white. But I digress. Its whole purpose is to "let other colors shine." It's a pairing color — an enhancer — and I'll admit, on that front, it makes sense. It really does go with everything. Which is probably why Joybird released an entire collection in it. From cloud-like couches to chairs to storage ottomans, the brand seems convinced that Cloud Dancer deserves its own furniture line. And honestly? For furniture, it does make sense — especially if you're a renter who doesn't have much say over your space (like, for instance, your wall color). It's versatile. It works with anything. |

"This puffer jacket has an adjustable drawstring hem that actually gives you shape instead of turning you into a living, breathing marshmallow. It also has a bomber-style collar that looks great on its own, but it's even better with the scarf, IMO, because it adds warmth and style." — Marisa Petrarca, contributing editor
