| | When Catherine Zoraida Blackwell saw the Princess of Wales wearing her earrings – on the front pages of every newspaper no less – she was “overwhelmed” with surprise.
Blackwell knew that the princess’s stylist had already been in touch. But she could never have predicted that the senior royal would wear the jewellery on the Diamond Jubilee tour to Malaysia, that sleuths would identify the brand and that Blackwell’s website would crash within a matter of seconds.
Her orders shot up. Blackwell continued to make every piece by hand, despite the delays. In her interview with Jessica Salter, Blackwell explains that this has always been her brand Zoraida’s ethos – and why she wouldn’t have it any other way.
