Plus: ‘I lost two stone in three months – without stepping into a gym’
| | By now you’ve probably heard that western culture is trending, whether you’ve listened to Beyoncé’s new country album or seen the cowboy boots cropping up on the high street. And while all of this yeehaw-ing has people talking of Texas, there’s another rollicking cowboy capital north of the border: my home city of Calgary, Canada. The Royal family has had their fair share of good times there, visiting our boot-stomping, liquid courage-fuelled rodeo and music festival that happens each summer.
I recently travelled to the Rocky Mountain-adjacent city to follow in Royal footsteps, visiting the workshop that made the then-Prince Charles a white felt cowboy hat in 1977, and the boot atelier that crafted pairs for the Prince and Princess of Wales in 2011. Plus, I recommend my favourite spots in town for barbecue and live music. Check out the full itinerary here.
