Plus: Is Cruz Beckham destined to outshine his parents?
| | | By Lisa Armstrong Head of Fashion | | A month of fashion shows is finally over and we’ve seen the future. Or at least next season. In reality, there are some ideas – small and bigger – that we can adopt now, just when our winter wardrobe favourites are running out of steam.
At Chanel for instance, many cardigans and blazers were accessorised with belts – an easy add that can help you balance out outfits in a fresh way.
At Miu Miu’s show, brooches are back and bright tights added whimsy (as they have at other shows) to dark, ladylike skirt suits. Think cobalt blue, emerald green… or settle for something more subtle. Sheer black tights are back in favour too. It’s going to open up a whole new world of skirts. Knitted twin sets and co-ords were a big hit on many catwalks – a smart but relaxed look that’s also very useful for spring.
And as for those bigger, wish list ideas. For day: an ankle-length coat, or a car coat. You also still can’t beat a blazer or a luxurious jumper. For night: it’s going to be a great season for metallics.
Happy planning,
