We probably place more expectations on our jeans than any other garment. We want them to make our bodies look amazing - cinch the waist, lift the derriere and lengthen the legs. They should be versatile too, with the potential to be dressed up or dressed down. And then there’s the shape - to skinny jean or not to skinny jean? Will a baggy fit drown me? Am I too old to try a barrel leg?

Somehow, through it all, jeans have remained in fashion, and next week will mark 150 years since they were invented. I spoke to a stylish cast of denim lovers about their favourite pairs of jeans, and how they wear them.

Elsewhere, we consider the recent rise of the oversized bag - and why now is the time to snag one.

Enjoy!
