As much as I love staying on top of fashion trends, I by no means adopt every single one of them. The truth is that trends come and go faster than my snack drawer, and I don't have room in my closet nor the financial flexibility to dole out money constantly. So while recently checking out Old Navy's new arrivals, I landed on the High-Waisted Parachute Cargo Jogger Ankle Pants ($38, originally $55; sale price includes 30 percent off at checkout), which are the perfect fusion of timeless and trend-inspired. I wasn't sure I'd try parachute pants, but I deemed these versatile enough to get lots of use whether lounging, traveling, or going out with friends.
What I love most about the Old Navy High-Waisted Parachute Cargo Jogger Ankle Pants is their style. The loose-fitting design is a unique fusion of parachute pants and cargo pants, which is genius for those who've been eyeing both trends and are unsure which to covet.
They're also the most lightweight pants I've ever worn. They're super airy, comfortable, and made of nylon, just like the OG designs worn in the '80s. Plus, thanks to the toggle-drawstring fastening, you can adjust the fit and ensure the elasticized waistband doesn't fit snugly or loosely.
These pants are full of functional pockets, too. They have deep, diagonal side pockets that can fit my iPhone 14 Pro (its giant case and all) on one side, and my house keys on the other (with room to spare). There are also cargo flap pockets on both legs in case there are even more items you want to store on your person.
I love how there are so many different ways to style them, whether you wear them as activewear, loungewear, or a casual daytime or nighttime look. The Old Navy High-Waisted Parachute Cargo Jogger Ankle Pants were the best way to try the billowy-parachute-pants trend for under $50 — so it's not surprising that they appear to be selling fast!
