Plus: What the Princess of Wales can teach us about statement jewellery and why Ireland’s ‘most beautiful beach’ is worth exploring
| | In front of you is an unremarkable dusty track, some homogenous tropical plants and a foreign road sign. Where are you?
Obviously, you have no idea – unless you are a pro at GeoGuessr. This addictive geolocation game has spawned a phenomenal cult following of players, who are challenged with pinpointing the location of a random spot in any of the 100 countries covered by the panoramas of Street View, Google Maps’ interactive exploration system. Sleuths can click along streets, zoom in on signs, pan the local flora, façades and fashion, before dropping the pin on a map at their best guess of the location. With more than 10 million miles of roads covered by Street View, this seems like an impossible task, so Murphy Williams spoke to some elite GeoGuessrs to find out their secrets. Here’s how to play the world's most addictive geolocation game.
