Plus: 'John Lewis has officially gone downhill – and my recent experience proves it'
| | | By Annabel Jones BEAUTY EDITOR AT LARGE | | “I’m sensing a strong return to ‘done’ hair,” hair stylist Sam McKnight MBE told me on the set of my big bouncy hair makeover. McKnight, should you not know, is the legend behind some of the most iconic hair images of all time, including Princess Diana’s timeless Vogue cover crop.
If you need added oomph, but are timid about appearing, dare I say, old fashioned, then I think you’ll find my article enlightening. In it, I explain the steps behind the look – of which there are only 3 – and the minimal products and tools he used to create it. As the hairdresser behind the soft heightened hair of the 90s, it was quite an honour to have my own locks coiffed into supermodel status by the man who originated the look.
Speaking of hair, beauty expert Jan Masters finally gets to grips with the eco-friendly shampoo bars, powder-to-foams and creams, which she writes about in her column The new shampoo must-dos. I have to admit that, with the amount of bottles I go through in a month, I'm tempted to switch camps.
