Is there anything Pharrell Williams can’t do? Singer, producer, restaurateur, hotelier, sculptor, skateboarder… this is a man of many hats (literally speaking as well as figuratively – let’s not forget the monumental cowboy-meets-goldminer Vivienne Westwood creation he wore to the 2014 Grammys).

The star’s latest venture is no small undertaking. On Tuesday it was announced that 49-year-old Williams will take over the hotly contested role of men’s creative director for Louis Vuitton, following in the substantial footsteps of the late Virgil Abloh. It’s an achievement all the more impressive considering the entrepreneur has had no formal training as a designer. So how on earth did he do it? Scroll down to read how a boy from Virginia who got his break playing in his high school band landed the role of a lifetime.

Plus, read our predictions for Sunday night’s Baftas and explore an underrated UK destination with mysterious islands and quiet beaches.

Enjoy!
