Could 2016 Beauty Be Returning This Year? Ariana Grande Thinks So |
We're only seven days into 2026, but the stars have already given us plenty of shopping inspiration. Awards season is in full effect, with the 31st Critics Choice Awards kicking things off this past weekend. While there were tons of fashion looks to gawk at, the beauty category was far from lacking — namely, Ariana Grande's dreamy glam. And, of course, it was a r.e.m. beauty affair. MUA Michael Anthony used everything from the brand's Sweetener foundation and concealer to its cherry blossom blush palette from its "Wicked: For Good" collaboration, creating the perfect red carpet-ready face. What's most noteworthy? Grande's retro cat eyes, which mean one thing: 2016 beauty is coming back. It's insane to think that era was exactly a decade ago, but it was one of the most unique times in beauty, where experimentation and precision was simultaneously encouraged. The cat eye was a defining aspect of that aesthetic, with Grande being a poster child for the trend back then. Her cat eye at this year's Critics Choice Awards taps into the nostalgia we've been craving for the new year. Maybe 2026 is your chance to relive 2016 too, starting with a cat eye. Shop a few picks used in her glam below. |

During the past two weeks of holiday break — filled with birthday celebrations and plenty of time outside (I know way too many December babies) — I was excited to elevate my everyday skincare routine. From slow mornings waking up at noon to evenings unwinding with Christmas movies, there was one product I used nonstop: the HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask ($349). Yes, it's a splurge but hear me out. Not only does it leave my skin with an unmatched glow, it also forces me to truly pause and relax. The red light helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, boost collagen and elastin, calm redness, and lift my mood. I love it so much, I'm wearing it as I write this newsletter. Need I say more? |
